Famous Hollywood movies of Sylvester Stallone include Rocky, Rambo, and The Expendables. But few people know, this action superstar used to emerge from porn movies.
Background of Sylvester Stallon
As the elder generation of other Hollywood actors such as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone used to struggle to do many jobs before coming into movies.
His childhood was unhappy when his parents divorced when he was only 11 years old. Due to his rebellious personality, his father sent him to his mother in Philadelphia four years later. Since then, Sylvester Stallone became a good boy and won an acting scholarship in Switzerland. He went straight to Europe to study later.
In 1969, Sly Stallone (another name of the actor) put aside his studies and returned to New York City with many ambitions on acting. However, in the late 1960s, Sylvester Stallone was struggling to find a foot in the B-class plays of the Broadway theater. He also experienced many jobs before taking the first role in his career.
His first role in porn film The Party at Kitty and Stud’s (1970)
However, the first role he took on was in a porn film The Party at Kitty and Stud’s (1970). Later, when Sly Stallone became popular through the action film, the filmmakers of this work took advantage of his name to “polish” this faded film by replaying it.
Always eagerly looking for a role where he could prove his acting skills was the desire of the actor. In fact, after the porn film in 1970, Sylvester Stallone continued struggling in movies with works that did not really make him shine.
The actor shared that he had to accept porn films because at that time he could not afford to pay accommodation and even aimed to go robbery to survive. With a payout of $ 200 for two days of performances in The Party at Kitty and Stud’s, the actor was so bored that he turned to write the screenplay. The fate brought Sylvester Stallone to the action movies, which began with the hit work Rocky (1976).
Shining with Rocky and Rambo series
If Rocky brought Sylvester Stallone’s name to enter Hollywood in the action film line, the Rambo series born after (starting from 1982) continued to reinforce his fame.
While Rocky told about a tough puncher with a kind heart who overcame a grim fate (inspired by the actor’s life), the hero in the Rambo series was a villain. The character then changed to protect America. Both of these images, especially the Rambo guy with a rebellious personality gained the heart of Americans.
Gaining fame again by The Expendables
After the above two brands, the name Sylvester Stallone began to fade in the early 2000s after a series of projects which were not popular. After that, the actor continued reviving by a long-term series called The Expendables since 2010. His name “had guaranteed” for many works with total gross revenue of films he starred at nearly $ 4 billion. It brought his name to the ranks of expensive superstars in Hollywood.
The Expendables group was a group of professional mercenaries. The members of this group all had their own skills and they always did their tasks well. The names of each member of this group were Barney Ross, Lee Christmas, Yin Yang, Gunner Jensen, Hale Caesar, and Toll Road.
At the beginning of the movie, the Expendables boarded the Somali pirate ship to rescue the hostages. When the pirates were killed, Gunner Jensen demanded to hang the surviving pirate. Because of knowing the group could not stop Jensen, Yin Yang rushed to beat Jensen. Jensen was angry and tried to stab Yang, but team leader Barney Ross stopped him. The Expendables returned to America, Barney reluctantly separated Jensen from the group because he did not listen to Barney.

It was also considered one of the best sports movies ever in history. The 7th part of it’s called Creed (released on the 40th anniversary of the original film) was continued bringing him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
