When Spider-Man 3 was released in 2007, the film didn’t make the big hit. Both the critics and the audience poorly appreciated. As a result, Sony decided to cancel the Spider-Man 4. From that time, Tobey Maguire’s acting career has started going downhill.

The climax of this case is that he was sued for the involvement of Bradley Ruderman ( the CEO of Ruderman Capital Partners), because he used his all investor’s money into their Poker games. Even though he was charged by his offensive behaviors to some staff members in the Poker club. After all of these scandals, Tobey Maguire’s image has been destroyed.
Now at the age of 44, after the series of his failure, whatever the reason, Maguire has spent a good chunk of the last few years behind the camera producing films through his production company, Material Pictures. Unfortunately, his films have not got so much attention from the audience up to now such as Rock of Ages ($38.5 million), Pawn Sacrifice ($2.4 million )và The 5 Wave ($33.1 million), although they got many positive comments from the audience.

Tobey Maguire and Jenifer Meyer met each other in 2003 on the set of Seabiscuit. In April 2006, they married and welcomed their first daughter Ruby Sweetheart Maguire in November of that year. After 4 years of marriage, the couple decided to hold a small wedding in Hawaii at the end of 2007. The Spider-Man movie family welcomed its fourth member, son Otis Tobias Maguire in 2009. After the divorce, Tobey Maguire still maintains a good friendship with his ex-wife.
