“Aquaman” Jason Momoa: The Guy Loving the Sea and His Wife

When blockbuster “Aquaman” launched, many viewers were convinced by the masculine beauty as a god of Jason Momoa.

Jason Momoa was born in 1979 on the tropical island of Hawaii. As a photographer’s son, he had a special passion for the art from his early age.

Jason Momoa was very keen on both the Polynesian sea and the Polynesian culture. After graduating from high school, he chose to study Oceanography because he wanted his life to always be associated with the ocean.

His love for the island was likely to help Jason Momoa meet the entertainment industry. At the age of 19, when he was a young man working part-time at a surfboard shop, he caught the eye of a designer and became a model.

Later, Jason Momoa hit the cinema lane when he passed over 1,000 bright candidates to win the leading role of the popular TV series Baywatch Hawaii (1999 – 2001) revolving around a beach rescue team. In the following years, Jason continued participating in many films relating to the coast background such as North Shore (2004 – 2005) and Stargate: Atlantis (2005 – 2009).

However, the big breakthrough in the career of this handsome actor was the role of Khal Drogo in HBO’s blockbuster Game of Thones. With a strong appearance and fierce fighting ability, Khal Drogo also took audience’s hearts thanks to his infinite love for his wife, “Dragon Mother” Daenerys Targaryen (by Emilia Clarke).

Although the character of Jason Momoa only “survived” in the first season, Khal Drogo has been still one of the heroes that impress the fans of the HBO’s TV series. This was considered as a huge breakthrough in his acting career.

Not only encapsulating his career as a hero, Momoa also knew how to take advantage of his appearance to impress audiences in many other action and horror movies such as The Bad Batch, Sugar Mountain, Once upon a Time in Venice, and TV series Frontier. In charge of reviving DCEU by Aquaman

Warner Bros studio started keeping an eye on the tall actor, who looked like a god to give him the role of Aquaman superhero of the DC Cinema Universe (DCEU) with many responsibilities.

DCEU had had a bittersweet 2017, and in 2018, they launched the only project Aquaman with all their heart and soul. This was considered as a vital project with the responsibiltyt to revive the DCEU and a bad year of Warners Bros. The person receiving that important role was Jason Momoa.

Used to appeare in the Justice League group in the blockbuster Justice League (2017), Aquaman was one of the members who won the hearts of the audience thanks to cool fighting moments and a humorous personality. 

Because it was Momoa’s impressive appearing to the superhero world of DC that helped him continue being entrusted with the responsibility of taking on the role of Aquaman in the movie about “The King of Seven Seas” directed by James Wan.

Momoa was directly offered by Zack Snyder toplay the sea superhero Aquaman. When director Zack Snyder chose Jason for the role Arthur Curry, he had learned about the background of Momoa.

The actor revealed that Zack Snyder wanted him to create the most interesting and bizarre superhero ever. This might sound like a difficult task at first, but fortunately, Jason Momoa himself had owned many strange things which were similar to the sea king Aquaman from the personality to the appearance.

The 39-year-old actor had a great deal of sympathy with the character in Aquaman. Especially with his superior height, masculine beauty, robust physique and deep eyes, he was considered as the most ideal and perfect role model for Aquaman. Sharing a great love for the sea, Jason Momoa easily showed the character’s personalities and captured the hearts of the fans.

In an interview about his loving wife,  Aquaman” revealed at the age of 8 when he sat with his mother to watch a movie by then-20-year-old Lisa Bonet. Suddenly, he pointed at the sexy actress on the screen and said to his mother, “Mom, I will have to marry her later.”

The 39-year-old actor confirmed that he was hit by the love of Lisa Bonet at first sight. The actor emphasized, “In my heart she is always a queen. Meeting Lisa is also a big dream of my whole life”. During his childhood, he admired and followed Bonet’s every step. He always loved his wife even though she was not the most perfect.

“To tell the truth, I’m a guy who has persisted like leeches for decades, but now we have two children together,” Momoa proudly boasted. After that, the two met and developed feelings through the introduction of friends in 2005, but it was not until 12 years later that they officially organized the wedding.
